The government has decided to allow all public transport to operate at full capacity across the country from August 11.

Cabinet Division issued a circular in this regard today.

According to the circular, Buses, trains, launches can carry passengers at full capacity. But the transport owners will have to operate 50 percent of their total vehicles every day on all roads, in consultation with local administration (divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners) and law enforcers.

Other directives on all activities and movement have also been issued as the government has decided to relax the ongoing restrictions — to curb Covid transmission — from August 11, considering the overall situation of the country.

All government, non-government and autonomous offices, banks and financial institutes will remain open, maintaining the health guidelines.

Bangladesh Supreme Court will give necessary directives for all courts, said the circular.

All shops, malls and markets can operate from 10am to 8pm, following the health guidelines.

All industries and factories will remain open.

Food shops and restaurants will remain open at half capacity, from 8am to 10pm.

All will have to wear masks and follow health guidelines issued by the health directorate.

If the health guidelines are ignored in public transport, markets and shopping malls, the authorities concerned will take legal action against the violators, added the circular.
