Garment workers in Gazipur will be vaccinated from today (Sunday), without registration, said Dr Khairuzzaman, civil surgeon of Gazipur.

As per the decision of secretary general of Directorate General of Health Services, the inoculation programme will kick off from today, said the civil surgeon.

Around 10,000 workers of four garment factories in Gazipur will be administered Moderna vaccine, he informed.

“We sought lists from the garment factories of Gazipur and got a list of 25 lakh workers,” he said, adding that they will be vaccinated without registration.

All the garment workers will come under the vaccination programme in phases, he added.

Workers were asked to carry national identity card for taking the vaccine, he further said.
