Two hundred and sixty-one have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today). The daily positivity rate during this period stood at 25.65 percent, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths in the country has reached 22,411 and the death rate stands at 1.67 percent.

A total of 8,136 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 13,43,396, added the release.

The total positivity rate stands at 16.64 percent.

A total of 31,714 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At total of 16,383 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 11,88,820 and the recovery rate at 88.49 percent.

Among 261 deceased, 152 were men and 109 women. Of them, one was between 11-20, eight between 21-30, 15 between 31-40, 28 between 41-50, 64 between 51-60, 76 between 61-70, 44 between 71-80, 16 between 81-90 and nine were between 91-100 years of age, added the release.
