One hundred and eighty-seven people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 18,685 and the death rate stands at 1.64 percent.

At least 3,697 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 11,40,200, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 32.19 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.46 percent.

A total of 11,486 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 8,566 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 9,69,610 and the recovery rate at 84.36 percent.

Among the 187 deceased, 117 were men and 70 were women.

Of them, one was between 11 and 20 years old, four were between 21 and 30, 20 between 31 and40, 12 between 41 and 50, 49 between 51 and 60, 64 between 61 and 70, 27 within 71 and 80, eight were between 81 and 90, and two between 91-100, added the release.
