5,683 infected, 2,364 recover in 24 hours

Fifty-eight people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

With this the total number of deaths reaches 9,213 and death rate stands at 1.46 percent.

At least 5,683 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 6,30,277 added the release.

The current positivity rate is 23.15 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.26 percent.

A total of 24,548 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 2,364 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 5,49,775 and the recovery rate at 87.23 percent.

Among the 58 deceased, 38 were men and 20 women while four were between 31-40 years old, four within 41-50, 16 within 51-60 and 34 were above 60 years old, added the release.
