Thirty-five people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of deaths has now reached 8,904 and the death rate stands at 1.49 percent. At least 3,908 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 5,95,714, added the release.
Infection number in 24 hours has remained above 3,500 for the sixth consecutive day today.
The current positivity rate is 17.65 percent, while the total positivity rate stands at 12.98 percent.
A total of 22,136 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).
At least 2,019 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 5,35,941 and the recovery rate at 89.97 percent.
Among the 35 deceased, 21 were men, and 14 were women. Of them, three were between 31-40 years old, six within 41-50, five between 51-60, and 21 were above 60 years old, added the release.
