Bangladesh saw a rise in deaths from coronavirus infections as health authorities reported 28 more deaths in 24 hours until Saturday, pushing the death toll to 6,350.

During this period, 1,848 new cases were detected, bringing the total tally to 445,281.

The death rate stood at 1.43 percent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release.

So far, 360,352 patients — 80.93 percent — including 1,921 new ones in the last 24 hours have recovered.
