Two hundred and forty-eight people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 22,150 and the overall death rate stands at 1.66 percent.
At least 12,606 new infections were reported during this period, taking the total number of infections to 13,35,260 added the release.
The current positivity rate is 26.25 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.6 percent.
A total of 48,015 samples were tested across the country during this period.
At least 15,494 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the same time.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 11,72,437 and the recovery rate at 87.81 percent.
Among the 248 deceased, 138 were men and 110 were women.
Of them, seven were between 21-30 years old, 19 between 31-40, 32 between 41-50, 62 between 51-60, 72 between 61-70, 39 within 71-80, 15 between 81-90 and two between 91-100 years old, added the release.
