2-yr-old dies in Chuadanga after testing positive for Covid-19

A two-year-old boy who tested positive for Covid-19 on March 27 died today at a hospital in Chuadanga.

Chuadanga Civil Surgeon ASM Maruf Hasan confirmed the matter to The Daily Star.

The deceased is Sadiqul Islam, son of Saddam Hossain of Dashmipara of Damurhuda upazila, reports our Kushtia correspondent quoting doctors.

Saddam said his son had kidney problems and was admitted to Dhaka Shishu Hospital on March 20 due to shortness of breath.

Later, a coronavirus test was conducted on him and the results came back positive on March 27. He was brought to Chuadanga from Dhaka on March 29 and was admitted to the corona ward of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.

Chuadanga Civil Surgeon said the child died at 12:00pm today while undergoing treatment.
